Knowledge

Files

Upload PDFs/docs and track ingestion status for use in workflows, widgets, and bots.

What “Files” are for

Files are uploaded documents (PDFs, docs, attachments) you want the system to reference as knowledge.

Use Files when:

  • the source is long-form (policies, manuals, playbooks)
  • you want versioned, project-scoped references
  • you need operators and automation to cite the same canonical document

Uploading files

Files are uploaded from Knowledge → Files.

Required fields

  • Title: a human-readable name for the document

Optional fields

  • Tags: comma-separated tags to help organize and find sources later

Size limit

Uploads are currently limited to 25 MB per file.

Ingestion status

After upload, files move through ingestion. You’ll see a status such as:

  • Queued: accepted and waiting to be processed
  • Processing: being ingested
  • Ready: available to use
  • Failed: ingestion failed (re-upload or replace)

Downloading a file

From the source detail modal you can download using a time-limited signed link (default expiry: 600 seconds).

Best practices

  • Name for retrieval: titles should match what operators will search (“Refund policy — 2026”).
  • Tag intentionally: use a small, consistent taxonomy (e.g. policy, pricing, support, legal).
  • Prefer one canonical file per topic: multiple overlapping PDFs lead to contradictory answers.
