Accounts & teams
How sign-in, teams, and roles work in Calypso.
Sign in
Calypso uses account-based sign in. After you sign in, everything you do is scoped to a team.
Teams
A team is the unit of configuration and data ownership in Calypso:
- Customers are stored per team
- Inbox conversations are routed and handled per team
- Flows, templates, campaigns, knowledge items, and widgets are configured per team
Switching teams
Use the team menu in the sidebar header to switch teams. Calypso resets and reloads data automatically when the selected team changes.
Roles
Roles control what a person can do in a team. Calypso currently supports:
- Owner: full access, including team administration
- Admin: manages configuration and members
- Member: standard access (varies by section)
- Agent: optimized for Inbox workflows (agents may see a simplified Inbox experience)
If you’re trying to change team configuration (flows, routing, members, settings) and don’t see the controls, check your role for the selected team.
Inviting members
Go to Organization → Members:
- Invite members by email
- Track Active, Pending, and Archived members
- Set roles and (optionally) adjust role-based navigation presets
